Niki Lauda’s Ferraris 312 B3 are ready to go!

Published on 22 April 2021
Scrutineering started early this morning for the 12th edition of Grand Prix de Monaco Historique, under a beautiful blue sky and with two authentic stars parked quietly on Quai Antoine 1er and waiting to take the track on Friday : two Ferrari 312 B3 models which raced in 1974 and that René Arnoux and Jean Alesi will have the chance to drive this week-end in the streets of the Principality. Both former Ferrari works drivers already tested the cars at Circuit Paul Ricard, a few days ago. And both cars are with a legendary V12 engine.
They served as rolling labs for the 312 T and T2 models which allowed Niki Lauda to conquer two world titles in 1975 and 1977. The car that will be driven by Jean Alesi took pole position for Monaco GP in 1974. The other one, which will also carry number 12, will be entrusted to René Arnoux. It entered 5 GPs in 1974 and the Austrian world champion in the making climbed on the podium three times (2nd in Argentina, Belgium and France).
