In order to determine the general frame of the inaugural event of World Rally Championship (WRC)\u00a0<\/strong>2018, the Organizing Committee of Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) honored its well-deserved\u00a0<\/strong>reputation, once again, by creating a perfect blend of tradition and innovation: the proportion of new\u00a0<\/strong>sectors will rise to 50% compared to the 2017 route. This 86th <\/span>edition promises to leave no competitor\u00a0<\/strong>indifferent\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

After two and a half strenuous days for recce, from Monday January 22<\/strong> at 8 o\u2019clock to Wednesday 24<\/strong> at 2 pm, all competitors cleared to race will be able to test in race conditions, from 4 pm, during the official\u00a0<\/strong>shakedown session (3,35 km)<\/strong>. This portion will be strictly identical, on La Garde road, within the limits of Gap city, to the one used in 2016 and 2017. Gap<\/strong> will welcome the rally for the 5th <\/span>consecutive year and install the Service Park as always, near Monaco<\/p>\n

The official start<\/strong> for 86th <\/span>Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo<\/strong> is scheduled for Thursday January 25<\/strong>, Casino\u00a0<\/strong>Square in Monaco <\/strong>, from 5:50 pm onwards. During the first nightly leg, a couple of interesting special stages will be organized in the department of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence: Thoard \u2013 Sisteron (SS1 \u2013\u00a0 36,69km – 9:43pm)<\/strong>, raced in that direction for the very first time in WRC, will be followed by Bayons \u2013 Br\u00e9ziers (SS2 \u2013\u00a0 25,49km – 10:51pm)<\/strong>, already used in 2017. Two great scenes for major WRC contenders to start fighting in 2018.<\/p>\n

On Friday January 26<\/strong>, crews will be heading south of Gap for the second day, with 150 km of special stages spread out over three departments (Hautes-Alpes, Dr\u00f4me and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence). This will be, by far, the most tiring day of the rally, with two loops of the same three remote special stages: Vitrolles \u2013 Oze (SS3\/6 \u2013 26,72km – 8:81am), Roussieux \u2013 Eygalayes (SS4\/7 \u2013 30,54km -10:04am \/ 3:11pm) <\/strong>and Vaumeilh \u2013 Claret (SS5\/8 \u2013 15,18km – 11:37am \/ 4:44pm)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Saturday January 27<\/strong>, north of Gap, will be just as tough as the previous days, with special stages based in the departments of Is\u00e8re and Hautes-Alpes, and a double loop to start with, consisting of Agni\u00e8res-en-<\/strong>D\u00e9voluy \u2013 Corps (SS9\/11 \u2013 29,16km – 08:08am \/ 11:57am)<\/strong> followed by Saint-L\u00e9ger-les-M\u00e9l\u00e8zes \u2013 La B\u00e2tie-Neuve (SS10\/12 \u2013 16,87<\/strong>km – 9:16am \/ 1:08pm)<\/strong>. However, this 3rd <\/span>day will not be over since the crews will be back, by daylight, in the same Bayons\u00a0\u2013 Br\u00e9ziers (SS13 \u2013 25,49km – 4:09pm)<\/strong> stage as Thursday night, and then they will stop one last time at Gap Service Park before they drive back to Principaut\u00e9 de Monaco <\/strong> in the evening.<\/p>\n

The conclusion of the rally, on Sunday January 28<\/strong>, will be made of four special stages (63.72km) with no chance of going through a Service Park in the steep hills of Alpes-Maritimes. So the drivers will go twice through La Boll\u00e8ne-V\u00e9subie \u2013 Pe\u00efra-Cava (SS14\/16 \u2013 18,41km – 8:32am \/ 10:55am)<\/strong> and La Cabanette \u2013 Col de Braus (SS15\/17 \u2013 13,58<\/strong>km – 9:08am \/ 12:18pm)<\/strong> which will be used as a Power Stage at the end of the second loop.<\/p>\n

At 3 pm<\/strong>, all deserving crews will be welcomed and honoured at the ritual Prize Giving Ceremony in front of\u00a0<\/strong>Monaco Prince\u2019s Palace<\/strong>.<\/p>\n"}],"icone_quick_link":""},"yoast_head":"\nPresentation of the event -
