{"id":10586624,"date":"2022-10-14T16:30:02","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T14:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/acm.mc\/edition\/88e-rallye-automobile-monte%e2%80%91carlo\/event\/presentation-de-lepreuve\/"},"modified":"2022-10-14T16:31:05","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T14:31:05","slug":"presentation-of-the-event","status":"publish","type":"edition","link":"https:\/\/acm.mc\/en\/edition\/88e-rallye-automobile-monte%e2%80%91carlo\/event\/presentation-of-the-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Presentation of the event"},"content":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"parent":10586622,"menu_order":773,"template":"","categories":[],"class_list":["post-10586624","edition","type-edition","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":{"afficher_la_page_en_grise":false,"activer_la_redirection":false,"contenu_des_pages":[{"acf_fc_layout":"bloc-contenu","contenu":"<h3><strong>88th Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>(20-26 January 2020)<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Tougher than winter!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The route for the 88<sup>th<\/sup> edition of Monte-Carlo Rally, the first date on the 2020 calendar of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), has been made more compact and even more selective by the Organizing Committee at Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM): compared to the 2019 edition, 25% of the route has changed, with several novelties and numerous difficulties\u2026 <\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After two and a half days of recce, from <strong>Monday January 20, to Wednesday January 22, <\/strong>all competitors cleared to race will be able to test in race conditions from <strong>4:01 pm,<\/strong> during the <strong>Shakedown session (3.35 km)<\/strong>. This will happen on the very same portion of road used since 2017, on the <strong>Route de la Garde <\/strong>in <strong>Gap, <\/strong>our partner host-city for the 7<sup>th<\/sup> consecutive year.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless,<strong> the official start for the 88<sup>th<\/sup> Monte-Carlo Rally<\/strong> is scheduled for the next day, <strong>Thursday January 23,<\/strong> on <strong>Quai Albert 1er<\/strong><strong>\u00a0in Monaco, <\/strong>from <strong>5 pm<\/strong> onwards. During the first nightly leg, a couple of interesting special stages, well known by the nostalgic fans, will be organized in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Hautes-Alpes departments: <strong>Malijai \u2013 Puimichel<\/strong> <strong>(SS1 \u2013 17.47km \u2013 8:38 pm)<\/strong> will be followed by <strong>Bayons \u2013 Br\u00e9ziers (SS2 \u2013 25.49km \u2013 10:26 pm)<\/strong>, to real tests for all major WRC contenders.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday <strong>January 24<\/strong>, crews will be heading south-east and east of <strong>Gap<\/strong> for the second day, with 122.48 km of special stages spread out over the same two departments (Hautes-Alpes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence). This will be the toughest day of the rally, with two loops of the same three special stages : <strong>Curbans \u2013 Venterol (SS3\/6 \u2013 20.02km \u2013 8:36 am\/1:54 pm)<\/strong>, then a brand new one, <strong>Saint-Cl\u00e9ment-sur-Durance &#8211; Freissini\u00e8res (SS 4\/7 \u2013 20.68km \u2013 9:56 am \/ 3:14 pm)<\/strong> and finally <strong>Avan\u00e7on \/ Notre-Dame-du-Laus (SS 5\/8 \u2013 20.59km \u2013 11:21 am \/ 4:39 pm)<\/strong> and probably lots of race incidents happening during this long day on the road.<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>Saturday January 25, <\/strong>the north-east and south-east of <strong>Gap<\/strong> will be on the menu of the third race day, with 75.20 km of special stages and a few more difficulties on the way. The loop, to be taken twice in the day, will be made of two famous tough stages: <strong>Saint-L\u00e9ger-les-M\u00e9l\u00e8zes \/ La B\u00e2tie-Neuve (SS 9\/11 \u2013 16.87km \u2013 9:38 am \/ 2:08 pm) <\/strong>and <strong>La Br\u00e9ole \/ Selonnet (SS 10\/12 \u2013 20.73km \u2013 10:56 am \/ 3:26 pm). <\/strong>The crews will be faced with a rather difficult choice of tyres, depending on the weather of the day. Then, after an ultimate stop at the <strong>Gap-Fontreyne<\/strong> Service Park, at the end of the afternoon, the remaining crews will head back to the <strong>Principality of Monaco <\/strong>at the beginning of the evening.<\/p>\n<p>The conclusion of the rally, on <strong>Sunday January 26, <\/strong>will be made of four special stages (63.54km) in the steep hills of Alpes-Maritimes, with no chance of going through a Service Park. So the crews will go twice through <strong>La Boll\u00e8ne-V\u00e9subie \/ Pe\u00efra-Cava (SS 13\/15 \u2013 18.41km \u2013 8:17 am \/ 10:55 am) <\/strong>and <strong>La Cabanette \/ Col de Braus (SS 14\/16 \u2013 13.36km \u2013 9:08 am\/12:18 pm <\/strong>which will be used as a Power Stage at the end of the second loop.<\/p>\n<p><strong>At 3 pm, <\/strong>all deserving crews will be honoured and rewarded at the <strong>Prize Giving Ceremony <\/strong>on <strong>Quai Albert 1<sup>er<\/sup><\/strong>, as it was also the case in 2019.<\/p>\n<div id=\"gtx-trans\" style=\"position: absolute; left: 509px; top: 365px;\">\n<div class=\"gtx-trans-icon\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n"}],"icone_quick_link":""},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
