{"id":5643,"date":"2016-09-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2016-09-18T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/acm.mc\/index.php\/edition\/grand-prix-de-monaco-historique-2016-edition\/"},"modified":"2022-03-09T16:17:31","modified_gmt":"2022-03-09T15:17:31","slug":"10e-grand-prix-de-monaco-historique","status":"publish","type":"edition","link":"https:\/\/acm.mc\/en\/edition\/10e-grand-prix-de-monaco-historique\/","title":{"rendered":"10<sup>e<\/sup> Grand Prix de Monaco Historique"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>More than a destination, a passion!<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>The Grand Prix de Monaco <\/strong> <strong>Historique<\/strong><strong> will celebrate in 2016 its 10<sup>th<\/sup> edition, an unmissable event for worldwide collectors and classic motorsport fanatics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A\u00a0real sprint race, contested on the legendary circuit of Monaco , The <\/strong><strong>Grand Prix de Monaco <\/strong> <strong>Historique<\/strong> is designed for <strong>worldwide collectors, nostalgic enthusiasts, drivers, spectators and ardent supporters of former days\u2019 mechanics, who definitely won\u2019t miss<\/strong><strong>\u00a0this world event<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Organized since 1997 by the <strong>Automobile Club de Monaco   <\/strong>, this \u201cbiennial\u201d event will take place two weeks before the\u00a0<strong>Grand Prix de Monaco  de Formule 1<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Within two and a half days, from <strong>Friday 13<sup>th<\/sup> afternoon to Sunday, May 15<sup>th<\/sup>, 2016<\/strong>, the <strong>Principality of Monaco <\/strong> is going to be transformed into <strong>a real temple to turn back the clock.<\/strong> It is indeed about <strong>50 years of motor racing<\/strong> that will be commemorated, through <strong>8 exceptional series:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>Event A\u00a0: <\/em><\/strong><strong>Pre-war racing cars<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Race B\u00a0: Pre-1961 front-engined F1 Grand Prix and F2 cars<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Race<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> C\u00a0: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Front engine Sports Racing cars raced from 1952 to 1955<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> (included)<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Race <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>D\u00a0: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Front-engined, drum brakes Formula Junior Cars from 1958 to 1960<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> (included)<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Race<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> E\u00a0: 1500 <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>F1 Grand Prix Cars<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> from 1961 to 1965 (included)<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Race F\u00a0: <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>F1 Grand Prix Cars<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>from 1966 to 1972 (included)<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Race G : <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>F1 Grand Prix Cars<\/em><\/strong> <strong><em>from 1973 to 1976 (included)<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This <strong>10<sup>th<\/sup> edition of this Grand Prix de Monaco  Historique<\/strong> will be an occasion to distribute <strong>the fiftieth\u2019s cup<\/strong> in order to celebrate the Formula One \u2013 3 liters \u2013 including the cars involved in the F1 Grand Prix between 1 January 1966 and 31 December 1969 (Race F \u2013 Class 1). The two races for Formula 1 \u2013 3 liters \u2013 will not accept cars after 1976 (1978 at the latest edition).<\/p>\n<p>By the end, the Formula 3 car\u2019s gives way to the Formula Junior (with front-engine, equipped with drum brakes \u2013 Race D) who will be celebrating their Diamond Jubilee.<\/p>\n<p><u>The changes from the previous editions are as follows:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Event A:<\/strong> This series loses his race status and becomes a parade. There will be two sessions of 30 minutes each on Saturday May 14th and Sunday May 15th. The ACM shall not require drivers to hold a FIA Historic Technical Passport or competition license. The wearing of a helmet and fireproof overalls are recommended but not mandatory.
