Back to the roots!<\/span><\/b><\/h2>\n

The 24th<\/sup> edition of Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique will mark the return of concentration legs, with three emblematic cities on the starting list: Bad Homburg, Milan and Reims. And three different routes\u2026 to the same destination: Monte-Carlo. This move was wished by the Organizing Committee at Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM)\u00a0 in order to boost the economy of the Principality and to welcome again crews coming from all over Europe ! The route for this edition \u2013 with a record number of 17 regularity stages (SR) \u2013 will be a cocktail of diversity and difficulties. The stages on the menu will all be remarkable, just because whole pages of the legend of Rally Monte-Carlo were written on these roads and passes. There will be a whole lot of candidates ready to fight and willing to add their names on the tables after Henrik Bjerregaard and Jaromir Svec, the last winning crew aboard a 1979 Ford Escort RS2000…<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

The End of Concentration Leg<\/strong> is scheduled for Saturday January 29<\/strong> between Monaco<\/strong> (1st<\/sup> crew starting at 6:00am<\/strong>)and Valence, the Dr\u00f4me Prefecture <\/strong>and again the Host<\/strong> City.<\/strong> With four Regularity Stages (SRs) on the menu, this first real racing day will be tough to manage and probably exhausting. The appetizer will be a short version of \u00abCol de Bleine \u2013 Saint Auban \/ SR1 \/\u00a007:50am \/ 15,39km\u00bb <\/strong>before a new stage \u00abCol des Aires \u2013 Eygaliers \/ SR2 \/\u00a011:20am \/ 13,99km\u00bb<\/strong>at the foot of famous Mont-Ventoux. Then crews will then head for Buis-les-Baronnies<\/strong> (12:10pm) <\/strong>where a mid-day checkpoint will be organized for all of them on Parking des Platanes. In order to go back to Valence, the next stage will be\u00a0 \u00abEygalayes \u2013 Montauban-sur-l\u2019Ouv\u00e8ze \/ SR3 \/ 1:00pm\u00a0\/\u00a030,25km\u00bb <\/strong>through two famous passes, Col Saint-Jean and Col de Perty via Laborel, followed by \u00abSainte-Jalle \u2013 R\u00e9muzat \/ SR4 \/ 2:10pm\u00a0\/\u00a016,58km\u00bb <\/strong>through Col de Soubeyrand, to close this chapter of the concentration in style. The last checkpoint will be set in Crest<\/strong> at 4:00pm<\/strong>, in order to regulate the flow of crews expected on Champ de Mars<\/strong> in Valence <\/strong>from\u00a0 4:50pm onwards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The next day is set in Ard\u00e8che, on Sunday January 30<\/strong>, with a start at 7:00am<\/strong> for the Classification Leg <\/strong>and, to start the morning, \u00abLa Croze \u2013 Saint-And\u00e9ol-de-Vals<\/strong> \/ SR5 \/ 8:00am\u00a0\/\u00a042,83km\u00bb<\/strong> followed by the traditional pause in Antraigues-sur-Volane, in front of the famous \u00ab\u00a0Remise\u00a0\u00bb where the Jouanny family will serve its renowned apple-pie to all crews. This will be a good way to prepare for another legendary stage, \u00abBurzet \u2013 Saint-Martial \/ SR6 \/ 10:10am\u00a0\/\u00a030,71km\u00bb<\/strong> via the Ray-Pic Cascade and Lachamp-Rapha\u00ebl. The mid-day pause is scheduled for 11:50am<\/strong> on Place du March\u00e9 in Saint-Agr\u00e8ve<\/strong>, where local products will be appreciated by all participants before starting a tough loop made of \u00abSaint-Bonnet-le-Froid \/ SR7 \/ 12:20pm \/\u00a027,28km\u00bb <\/strong>and\u00a0 \u00ab\u00a0Lalouvesc \u2013 Labatie-d\u2019Andaure \/ SR8 \/ 1:15pm \/\u00a019,96km\u00bb<\/strong>. Then back to Valence (3:40pm)<\/strong> without forgetting to stop, from 2:50pm onwards<\/strong>, at Quai Farconnet<\/strong> in Tournon-sur-Rh\u00f4ne<\/strong> for a set of friendly ritual rallying activities of all sorts.<\/p>\n

On Monday January 31<\/strong>, starting at 7:00am<\/strong> the<\/strong> 1st<\/sup> part of the Common Leg <\/strong>\u00a0will be set in Baronnies proven\u00e7ales Regional Park, starting with \u00abLa Charce \u2013 Rosans \/ SR9 \/ 9:00am \/\u00a012,65km\u00bb<\/strong> via Col de Pommerol, and following suit with \u00ab\u00a0Saint-Andr\u00e9-de-Rosans \u2013 Laborel<\/strong> \/ SR10 \/ 9:40am\u00a0\/\u00a028,04km\u00bb<\/strong>. The mid-day pause will take place in Laragne-Mont\u00e9glin, <\/strong>supervised by the Auto-Sport du Laragnais motor racing club from 11:00am<\/strong>. A few minutes to take a breath and appreciate a few local delicacies will be crucial before starting \u00ab\u00a0Ventavon \u2013 Chabestan\u00a0 \/ SR11 \/ 11:20am \/\u00a021,22km\u00bb<\/strong> through the very demanding Col de Faye and a downhill portion towards Savournon. Last but not least, to finish this gruelling day, crews will head for the Vercors hills and \u00ab\u00a0La C\u00eeme du Mas \u2013 Col de Gaudissart \/ SR12 \/ 1:55pm \/\u00a017,48km\u00bb <\/strong>via Col de l’\u00c9charasson<\/strong> as a justice of peace! The last halt before returning to Valence (4:00pm)<\/strong> will happen on Place du Champ de Mars in Saint-Jean-en-Royans <\/strong>where the last checkpoint of the day is scheduled from 2:50pm onwards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday February 1<\/strong>, the start from Valence<\/strong> is scheduled for 6:00am<\/strong> before heading for the Diois hills. This 2nd<\/sup> part of the Common Leg <\/strong>will start with a monumental stage, \u00abSaint-Nazaire-le-D\u00e9sert\u00a0\u2013 Gumiane \/ SR13 \/ 7:30am\u00a0\/\u00a030,04km\u00bb<\/strong> and no less than four passes on the way: Col des Guillens \/ Col du Portail \/ Col de Vache \/ Col des Roustans followed by a very tough downhill portion called \u00ab\u00a0Route de Tremouret\u00a0\u00bb towards the finish line of this stage. The next one will be\u00a0 \u00abSisteron <\/strong>\u2013 Thoard \/ SR14 \/ 10:10am\u00a0\/\u00a032,77km\u00bb <\/strong>via Authon and the scary pass of Col de Fontbelle, followed by \u00abRouaine <\/strong>\u2013 Entrevaux\u00a0\/ SR15 \/ 12:30pm\u00a0\/ 23,52km\u00bb<\/strong> through Val de Chalvagne and Col de F\u00e9lines. The last checkpoint before entering Parc ferm\u00e9 in Monaco (3:10pm)<\/strong> will happen on Place Neuve in La Turbie,<\/strong> from 2:40pm onwards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The start for the Final Leg <\/strong>is scheduled in the night of Tuesday 1 to Wednesday February 2<\/strong> in Monaco<\/strong> from 9:00pm onwards<\/strong>. On the menu of this last night,\u00a0 \u00abSospel \u2013 La-Boll\u00e8ne-V\u00e9subie \/ SR16 \/ 10:00pm\u00a0\u00a0\/ 30,96km\u00bb<\/strong> via famous Col de Turini will be followed by \u00abLoda \u2013 Coaraze \/ SR17 \/ 11:10pm\u00a0\/ 22,43km\u00bb <\/strong>through Col de Porte and Col Saint-Roch. The winning crew is expected around 1:10am<\/strong> on Port Hercule in Monaco<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
