The last &#8220;test&#8221; before plunging into the \u201cqualifying magic\u201d for the Monaco E-Prix 2024 around the 3.337km circuit, the session saw &#8211; as in the FP1 &#8211; Mitch Evans finish first.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Free Practice 2 at the Monaco E-Prix 2024 was the final practice session before qualifying. The Jaguar TCS Racing cars got off to a strong start with Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans setting the fastest times. But the competition was fierce, with a succession of different drivers topping the timesheets.<\/p>\n<p>In the end, <strong>Mitch Evans (Jaguar TCS Racing) set the fastest time in FP2<\/strong>. In good shape early on this morning on a circuit he knows well, the Auckland native confirmed his good feeling on the Monegasque track by <strong>improving his time by almost a second compared to the previous session<\/strong>. The Kiwi also claimed pole in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the Jaguar I-Type 6 driven by <strong>Robin Frijns (Envision Racing), the Coventry-based engine manufacturer was also represented in 2nd position<\/strong>. The Dutch is gaining confidence ahead of the forthcoming qualifying sessions. <strong>World Championship co-leader Pascal Wehrlein (TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team) finished 3<sup>rd<\/sup> in the session<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This final test saw a number of drivers make mistakes. Leading at the halfway point, Edoardo Mortara (Mahindra Racing) &#8211; as Sam Bird earlier \u2013 missed his braking point at Sainte-D\u00e9vote. However, The Swiss-Italian was able to return to the pits. He finished 12<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Following his crash at Sainte-D\u00e9vote in FP1, <strong>Sam Bird withdrew from the race and was replaced by Taylor Barnard in the NEOM McLaren Formula E car. Aged 19 years and 331 days, the Woking-based company&#8217;s reserve driver becomes the youngest ever driver<\/strong> to take part in a Formula E race. For his first time behind the wheel of a GEN3, the Norwich native finished 22<sup>nd<\/sup> and last.<\/p>\n<p>Practice is now over.
