As the opening round of the 2026 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), this legendary road event is poised to attract high-caliber teams and elite drivers from across the globe.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reconnaissance runs will be conducted from <strong>Sunday, January 18<\/strong> through <strong>Tuesday, January 20<\/strong>. Participating crews will then engage in a modified shakedown session on <strong>January 21 at 14:01.<\/strong> Measuring 4.25 km, the trial route &#8211; first introduced in 2017 and extended for this edition &#8211; now integrates the Rabou\u2019s road in <strong>Gap<\/strong>, host city from 2014 to 2021 and again from 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The official start of the 94<sup>th<\/sup> Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo is set for <strong>Thursday, January 22<\/strong> at <strong>14:30<\/strong> from the podium ramp installed on <strong>Quai Albert 1<sup>er<\/sup><\/strong> in <strong>Monaco<\/strong>. This initial leg features three special stages, totaling 61.58 kilometers. Held in the departments of Alpes-Maritimes and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the stages <strong>\u00ab Toudon \/ Saint-Antonin \u00bb (SS 1 &#8211; 21,90 km &#8211; 16h05), \u00ab Esclangon \/ Seyne-les-Alpes \u00bb (SS 2 \u2013 23,80 km &#8211; 18h35) and \u00ab Vaumeilh \/ Claret \u00bb (SS 3 &#8211; 15,06 km &#8211; 20h35)<\/strong> promise the potential for major surprises right from the start.<\/p>\n<p>Two departments, Dr\u00f4me and Hautes-Alpes, will host the second day of rallying, with a total of 129.38 kilometers against the clock. This leg comprises a three-stage loop repeated twice, including <strong>\u00ab Laborel \/ Chauvac-Laux-Montaux \u00bb (SS 4\/7 &#8211; 17,95 km &#8211; 09h04\/15h16), \u00ab Saint-Nazaire-le-D\u00e9sert \/ La Motte-Chalancon \u00bb (SS 5\/8 &#8211; 28,70 km &#8211; 10h32\/16h44) and \u00ab La B\u00e2tie-des-Fonts \/ Aspremont \u00bb (SS 6\/9 &#8211; 17,79 km &#8211; 11h50\/18h05)<\/strong>. This second leg, packed with technical challenges, is simply the longest of the entire rally.<\/p>\n<p>While shorter in length, Saturday\u2019s mostly Alpes-de-Haute-Provence-based stage remains equally demanding. It features a total of 78.22 kilometers of timed sections, including the band-new <strong>\u00ab La Br\u00e9ole \/ Bellaffaire \u00bb<\/strong> via the <strong>Garcinets<\/strong> pass <strong>(SS 10\/12 &#8211; 29,93 km &#8211; 08h31\/12h31)<\/strong>, run twice, and a daytime reprise of <strong>\u00ab Vaumeilh \/ Claret \u00bb<\/strong> from Thursday evening <strong>(SS 11 &#8211; 15,06 km &#8211; 09h55)<\/strong>. In contrast to the 2025 edition, this year the return to Monaco happens Saturday afternoon and wraps up with a super special stage <strong>(SS 13 &#8211; 2,69 km &#8211; 18h35)<\/strong>, set on the lower section of the iconic <strong>Monaco Circuit, <\/strong>the first since 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo will culminate with a thrilling final showdown across two legendary mountain stages, each repeated twice and totaling 71.62 kilometers. Crews will tackle <strong>\u00ab Col de Braus \/ La Cabanette \u00bb (SS 14\/16 &#8211; 12,50 km &#8211; 08h05\/11h09)<\/strong> and <strong>\u00ab La Boll\u00e8ne-V\u00e9subie \/ Moulinet \u00bb (SS 15\/17 \u2013 23,45 km \u2013 09h35\/13h15)<\/strong>, with the second run of the latter serving as the Wolf Power Stage &#8211; a decisive moment where drivers can gain crucial championship points.
