From the press conference room and the media zone, the Formula E drivers shared their thoughts ahead of the 2026 Monaco E-Prix. Here is an overview of their impressions before the first laps get underway this Saturday from 7:30 a.m. onwards.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a privilege for all of us to race here\u201d<\/em>. The words of Mitch Evans<\/strong> (Jaguar TCS Racing<\/strong>), winner of the most recent E-Prix in Berlin and currently second in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship<\/strong>, sum up the general feeling among the drivers. Winner of the Monaco E-Prix in 2024, the New Zealand driver hopes to bounce back after what he described as a \u201chorrible\u201d<\/em> weekend last year.<\/p>\n

Just three points behind Pascal Wehrlein<\/strong> (Porsche Formula E Team<\/strong>) in the championship standings, Mitch Evans is not counting on any weakness from the German outfit. \u201cI mean they’re arguably one of the best teams so it’s not the best so it’s only a matter of time before Porsche stands on the podium here.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Edoardo Mortara<\/strong> (Mahindra Racing<\/strong>) rounds off the top three in the championship standings and arrives in the Principality brimming with confidence, describing Monaco as \u201cthe most important event of the season\u201d<\/em>. At ease in qualifying, with three pole positions to his name this season, he nevertheless insists that a weekend in Monaco is never predictable. \u201cIt\u2019s always difficult to know if we\u2019ll be competitive, it\u2019s a truly unpredictable circuit.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

S\u00e9bastien Buemi<\/strong> (Envision Racing<\/strong>), currently 9th<\/sup> in the championship standings, does not want to get ahead of himself. \u201cI\u2019m trying to stay realistic. We\u2019ve shown that we can be competitive in races, but here it\u2019s never easy. We\u2019ll build the weekend session by session,\u201d<\/em> said the driver who holds the record for the most E-Prix victories in Monaco, with three wins (2015, 2017 and 2025).<\/p>\n

The French drivers Jean-\u00c9ric Vergne<\/strong> (Citro\u00ebn Racing<\/strong>) and Norman Nato<\/strong> (Nissan Formula E Team<\/strong>), who were present at the press conference, expressed their excitement ahead of this special weekend. \u201cMonaco is always a special place. I love the track and then you are on top of it the historic elements of that city,\u201d<\/em> said the Citro\u00ebn driver, who is 15th<\/sup> in the championship.<\/p>\n

For Norman Nato<\/strong> it feels like a home E-Prix. \u201cI\u2019m from the south of France, so this race is special for me. My family will obviously be here, it\u2019s a pleasure and a great opportunity to race here on two consecutive days.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Two consecutive race days, a unique format that also appeals to Maximilian G\u00fcnther<\/strong> (DS Penske<\/strong>). \u201cThe two races actually you have to approach them a little bit different and this is what It\u2019s all about here, adapting and racing\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

See you this Saturday at 7:30 a.m.<\/strong> for the first free practice session<\/strong>. Qualifying<\/strong> will begin from 10:40 a.m.<\/strong>, before the start of the 10th<\/sup> Monaco E-Prix<\/strong> at 3:05 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n
