The races have finally begun on this third day of the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Grand Prix de Monaco 2026 ! The F2 and F3 sprint races took place this Saturday, and the drivers gave it their all to prove themselves.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first battles took place under the Monegasque sun this Saturday. Noel Leon<\/strong> (Campos Racing) in F2<\/strong> and Hiyu Yamakoshi<\/strong> (Van Amersfoort Racing) in F3 won the day\u2019s two sprint races. A look back at the weekend\u2019s opening rounds at the Monaco Circuit<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Round 2 : Leon Wins with Ease<\/h4>\n

Noel Leon<\/strong> (Campos Racing) continued his winning streak in the sprint race. Having already claimed victory two weeks ago, the Mexican dominated the race from start to finish in Monaco. Roman Bilinski<\/strong> (DAMS Lucas Oil) finished second, a few lengths ahead of championship leader Gabriele Min\u00ec<\/strong> (MP Motorsport).<\/p>\n

It was a relatively calm sprint race, with no major incidents on the track, but enlivened by some impressive overtaking. By the end of the race, however, significant gaps had opened up between the drivers due to a fierce battle for the fastest lap. In Formula 2<\/strong>, drivers finishing in the top 10 earn a bonus point if they set the fastest lap of the race. In this challenge, Nikola Tsolov<\/strong> (Campos Racing) came out on top, securing a valuable extra point for the championship. The main race will take place this Sunday, June 7th, at 9:25 am<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

F3: Chaos at the Fairmont benefits Yamakoshi<\/h4>\n

Starting from pole position, Hiyu Yamakoshi<\/strong> (Van Amersfoort Racing) claimed his first-ever sprint race victory. Gerrard Xie<\/strong> (DAMS Lucas Oil) took second place, closely followed by Bruno Del Pino<\/strong> (Van Amersfoort Racing), who completed the podium.<\/p>\n

The race was marked by several track interventions by the race stewards. The Fairmont hairpin, in particular, was the scene of two incidents involving several cars. The sprint race was interrupted by a 30-minute red flag, which was not enough to cool the drivers\u2019 tempers. Following a collision with Ernesto Rivera<\/strong> (Campos Racing), Freddie Slater<\/strong> (Trident) received a 10-second penalty.<\/p>\n

The pole sitter for tomorrow\u2019s feature race, Th\u00e9ophile Na\u00ebl<\/strong> (Campos Racing), forced to start 12th due to the reverse grid, couldn\u2019t do anything to avoid the contact.
