The FIA World Motor Sport Council has validated the calendar for the 2026-27 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. As part of a historic season featuring a record 21 races across 13 cities worldwide, the Monaco E-Prix will once again play a key role, hosting Rounds 10 and 11 of the championship on 15 and 16 May 2027.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since its first visit to the Principality in 2015, the Monaco E-Prix has established itself as one of the most iconic and anticipated events on the Formula E calendar. Staying true to the tradition of recent editions, both races will be contested on the full Monaco Circuit layout, providing drivers with one of the most demanding challenges of the season.<\/p>\n

A Record-Breaking Season and New Destinations<\/strong><\/p>\n

With 21 races on the schedule, the 2026-27 campaign will be the longest season in Formula E history. The championship will continue its global expansion with several exciting new destinations, including a first-ever visit to the Circuit of The Americas in Austin (USA), the addition of Zandvoort in the Netherlands, and a new venue for the London E-Prix at the legendary Brands Hatch circuit.<\/p>\n

The GEN4 Revolution Arrives in Monaco<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monaco spectators were given a glimpse of the future during the 2026 edition<\/a>, when the new GEN4 car was demonstrated on the streets of the Principality. In 2027, this next generation of Formula E machinery will officially make its competitive debut in Monaco.<\/p>\n

More powerful, faster and featuring active all-wheel drive, the GEN4 represents a major step forward for the championship. With power output reaching up to 600 kW (over 815 hp), these cars promise unprecedented performance levels for an all-electric single-seater. The expected gains in speed should significantly reduce lap times and deliver an even more spectacular show around the iconic Monaco Circuit.<\/p>\n

A New Race Format for Even More Action<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2026-27 season will also introduce a brand-new competition format for double-header race weekends. Alongside the traditional E-Prix, which focuses on energy management, race strategy and the use of PIT BOOST, fans will be able to experience the all-new E-Prix Unleashed, a 30-minute sprint race designed to showcase the full performance potential of the GEN4 cars.<\/p>\n

Created to allow drivers and teams to exploit the capabilities of this new generation of race cars, the format will complement Formula E’s strategic DNA. The Monaco weekend will therefore feature two distinct racing styles: one centred on tactics and energy management, the other focused on pure speed, attacking racing and on-track action.<\/p>\n

An Edition Already Generating Excitement<\/strong><\/p>\n

With the arrival of the GEN4 cars, the introduction of a new race format and a record-breaking 21-race calendar, the Monaco E-Prix 2027 is already shaping up to be a landmark event. On 15 and 16 May 2027, the Circuit de Monaco will once again host one of the most prestigious rounds of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, as the series embarks on an exciting new chapter in its history.<\/p>\n
