Administrative checks and scrutineering ended this Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. As expected, all 62 crews entered in the 2025 E-Rallye Monte-Carlo have been cleared to start. The official start will be broadcast live at 6:20 p.m. on the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) YouTube’s channel and Facebook’s page.
An anniversary calls for a celebration, and the ACM upheld tradition. For the 30th anniversary of its 100% electric road event, the 2025 lineup is once again highly competitive: 37 models by 17 manufacturers, and 18 nationalities represented. This Wednesday morning, all 62 crews successfully passed the administrative checks and scrutineering and will be at the start on the Place du Casino this evening.
Two-time defending champions of the E-Rallye, Spanish duo Eneko Conde and Lukas Sergnese (no. 6) return behind the wheel of a Kia, this time switching from the Kia E-Niro to the Kia EV6. The South Korean manufacturer is strongly represented with seven entries, as is Hyundai, with four cars.
The Kia – Hyundai rivalry will be shaped by the battle for the 2025 Bridgestone FIA ecoRally Cup title. Guido Guerrini and Artur Prusak, currently leading the championship and driving the Kia E-Niro no. 2, will face strong competition from the crew of Michal Zdarsky and Jakub Nabelek in the Hyundai Kona no. 1. The reigning champions do not intend to give up a third consecutive crown.
On the French side, six Alpine cars will take on the roads of Monaco, France, and Italy. Among them, the crew of Emmanuel Guigou and Émilien Le Borgne, in the Alpine A290 no. 19, will be aiming to place the French brand on the podium.
Italy will be represented by a single car, but a significant one: the Lancia Ypsilon no. 38, driven by Bruno Saby and Christophe Marques. The 1988 Rallye Monte-Carlo winner made his ambitions clear during checks. With an experienced co-driver in the discipline, he is aiming for victory.
As in previous years, German manufacturers are well represented, with Volkswagen fielding 13 cars, BMW 4, and Mercedes and Audi with one each. BMW is supporting several crews, including those representing the Yacht Club de Monaco (Olivier Campana and Nicolas Milanesio, no. 8), Nice-Matin / Radio Vinci Autoroutes (Thomas Peyrot and Frédéric Mlynarczyk, no. 17), and Force Publique Monaco (Jean-Philippe Dol and Michaël Rascalon, no. 18).
Volkswagen will be a team to watch, especially the Belgian VW Club led by Antoine Dechamps and Bernard Verstraete (no. 13), as well as the teams of Bernard Heine and Valérie Piette (no. 7), and Michel Decremer and Marie-Claire Martens (no. 9).
Finally, Tesla will also be at the start with 13 car including the Model 3, Model S, Model X, and Model Y.
Now it’s time for the Grand Départ, which you can follow on the ACM’s Facebook page and YouTube channel from 6:20 p.m.
