3^rd MONACO E-Prix

Monaco E-Prix is back in Principality for a third edition on Saturday 11^thof May 2019.

After the 2015 and 2017 editions, the electric car, which also have the halo on, are back in Monaco. And the innovations for this 5^thseason are numerous :

• The battery life of the Formula E second generation (GEN 2) has evolved quite a lot and let now the drivers participate to a race on only one car.
• Qualifications groups won’t be drawn anymore. 4 groups of 6 drivers each will be made in accordance with the overall classification of the championship.
• An « Attack mode » has been created. Usually, FE have 200 kW (268 hp) of power. From now on and several times during the races, drivers will have to drive on a part of the track to activate the mode. It will bring 25 extra kW (33,5 hp) of power to the car. The Fan Boost remain the same : it gives the opportunity to the public via the social networks to offer 25 extra kW (33,5 hp) to their favourite driver. This year they will be five – and not three as it was until now – to receive it. The drivers will have to activate the Fan Boost during the « Attack mode », which will give them 50 extra kW (67 hp).
• Finally races last forty-five minutes and an additional lap. Once the time limit has expired the drivers will have a last lap to complete to see the chequered flag waved.

This year three « former » F1 drivers arrive in Formula E : Pascal Wehrlein joined Mahindra Racing, Felipe Massa chose the Monégasque team Venturi and Stoffel Vandoorne signed for the new team HWA RACELAB. Sebastien Buemi, double winner of the Monaco E-Prix – and also former F1 driver – will defend his title on a track, specially elaborated on the lower part of the original track of the Monaco Grand Prix.

For the third edition of the Monaco E-Prix, the Allianz E-Village is located on the Quai Antoine 1^er. In addition of the number of stands dedicated to entertainment, the Allianz E-Village gives the opportunity to get up close with the latest features and innovations of the car manufacturers. Test your skill in the Gaming Zone on one of our simulators. This is also the place where you can meet your heroes during the traditional autograph session.

The other major innovation of 2019 is on track is the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY. The first race was held on 15th of December, during the Ad Diriyah E-Prix. First all-electric production based international race series, it puts on stage the first battery all electric car of the Jaguar range, the I-Pace SV, modified for racing. 20 drivers will fight for victory during 10 meetings made up of free practice, qualifying and 30 minutes’ race. In Monaco the race is scheduled after the Monaco E-Prix.
