The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returns to the Principality on Saturday 8 May 2021, two years after the all-electric series raced on the iconic Monte Carlo streets.
Following Formula E’s first visit back in 2015, the new FIA World Championship series now makes its fourth visit to the legendary Monegasque roads.
Last time out around the Principality’s legendary streets in 2019, Jean-Eric Vergne (DS TECHEETAH) broke the streak of the ‘Electric Mr Monaco’ Sebastien Buemi. The Nissan e.dams racer had previously taken both victories in Formula E’s first two visits to Monte Carlo.
Reigning champion Antonio Felix Da Costa (DS TECHEETAH) heads the 24 Formula E stars visiting Monaco in May. Among the drivers lining up for Season 7, some notable names have already experienced the challenging streets that skirt around the famous waterfront, including former Formula 1 drivers Pascal Wehrlein (TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team) and Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team).
For allowing the Monaco E-Prix to take place in the best conditions, the Automobile Club de Monaco, in relation with the Monegasque authorities, will apply a specific MANDATORY protocol for all stakeholders present at the event (spectators, teams, media, officials, suppliers, etc.), these will be further detailed in the coming weeks.
