Pascal Wehrlein : “Racing in Monaco is always special “

Absent from the first two rounds of the season after his injury at the Race Of Champions, Pascal Wehrlein realised an astonishing comeback on the Sauber’s car. He managed two Q2 in qualifying and also scored the first points this season of the Swiss team at Barcelona with the eighth place. He is ambitious before to start the Monegasque’s round.

« Racing in Monaco is always special, explains the 2015 DTM world champion. It is fascinating and challenging at the same time. It is a real challenge for the drivers, as we need to drive very precisely. In order to be fast, we are forced to drive the cars millimeters away from the barriers. But I like these kinds of challenges. »

14th with the Manor last year for his first experience in the Principality, the Sauber driver intends to progress this season. If his car would not allow him to aim for regular points, the German still wants to believe in a possible achievement in the Monegasque’s streets.

« We travel with good vibes to Monaco , says the member of Mercedes junior driver academy. We need to keep working in this development direction to further improve the car. But I am positive that we will make another step with the new parts on the car in Monaco . »
