Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique

29 January - 07 February 2026

The timeless beauty of a legendary rally

The Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique is a flagship event that celebrates the golden age of motorsport through a demanding and history-filled route. Reserved for vehicles that participated in the iconic Monte-Carlo Rally from the early 20th century to the 1980s, this event continues a tradition where passion, regularity, and driving skill are the key elements. Competitors set off from several European cities – including Monte-Carlo, Reims, Turin, and Bad Homburg – to reach Valence, the essential meeting point and host city. This initial journey kicks off an intense adventure where each crew must already prove their reliability and consistency on Europe’s wintry roads. Once gathered in Valence, participants begin the classification stages, made up of numerous regularity tests on mountain roads renowned for their technical difficulty and wild beauty. Among the legendary locations crossed are the Vercors, Ardèche, Drôme, Baronnies, and Hautes-Alpes. Drivers tackle famous passes such as the Col de l’Écharasson, Col de Menée, Col de Perty, and Col de Fontbelle in a spirited yet friendly atmosphere. Long, fast-paced stages follow day after day, punctuated by breaks in welcoming villages where local entertainment, regional product tastings, and encounters between enthusiasts create a warm and festive spirit. Each section of the route is designed to combine challenge, stunning scenery, and respect for the rally’s heritage. The final part of the rally marks the climax of the event: a common stage leading crews gradually toward the Principality of Monaco, with a passage through spectacular roads in the Southern Alps. Then, in true Monaco tradition, the final stage is run at night, often in extreme conditions, including the legendary ascents of the Col de Braus and Col de Turini, the ultimate challenge of the rally. The arrival at Port Hercule marks the end of this unique adventure, rich in emotion and lasting memories. As tradition dictates, participants gather afterward for a gala evening in a prestigious setting, celebrating the winners and all those who helped bring this vibrant tribute to historic rallying to life.
