The 95th Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlo, scheduled for January 21–24, will kick off in exactly 100 days. Here’s a look at the highlights of an event full of surprises and new features, which promises to be, once again, particularly challenging.
From the very start, the Rallye Monte-Carlo 2027 will be a challenging event. After the start at Port Hercule in Monaco (Thursday, January 21), the first special stage, between Col de Bleine and Aiglun, will be one of the highlights of this year’s edition. “It’s the nice surprise of this year’s event. You won’t want to miss this special stage”, said Romain Pugliese, Clerk of the Course of the Rallye Monte-Carlo and in charge of the route. Scheduled for the second run on Sunday morning, this special stage will return to Monte Carlo after a 24-year absence.
Meanwhile, the rally heads north of Gap on Friday (100.56 kilometers between Hautes-Alpes and Isère), followed by an intense day on Saturday, the longest day, in the Hautes-Alpes and Drôme (112.92 km). Finally, the return to Monaco on Sunday will be decisive, concluding with the famous Col de Turini in the Power Stage, where the winner of the 95th Rallye Monte-Carlo will be decided.
The 2027 season will mark a turning point for the World Rally Championship, with the arrival of a new promoter and new regulations aimed at modernising the sport while preserving its DNA. And it all begins in 2027, with new initiatives like the “WRC Arena” to attract a bigger audience. From a sporting perspective, these regulations are specifically designed to boost the championship’s appeal. The new cars will be less complex and more affordable, making it possible to attract new manufacturers and independent tuners. “We’re all excited to see how this plays out on the roads,” says Romain Pugliese. “We should soon see the new cars out for test drives, and there will certainly be some surprises in store!”

While the Rallye Monte-Carlo 2027 will mark the beginning of a new era for the WRC, the 2026 season concluded with Elfyn Evans’s sensational championship victory in Sardinia. The Welsh driver, co-driven by Scott Martin, claimed his first world championship title after a spectacular duel with Oliver Solberg. The young Swede, winner of the Rallye Monte-Carlo 2026, was just 300 meters away from clinching the title, but a mistake on the road ended his hopes.
The snow-covered Rallye Monte-Carlo in 2026, won by Oliver Solberg and Elliott Edmondson and a standout moment of the season due to its difficulty and dramatic storyline, will certainly be a must-see event of the upcoming season.
