SMEG steps on the gas!

The Société Monégasque d’Electricité et de Gaz (SMEG) has entered a team which has just won the Riviera Electric Challenge. The driver is none other than Romain Haut-Labourdette, who has taken part in the WRC version of Rallye Monte-Carlo several times. He is discovering the wonderful world of electric rallying in a Tesla Model 3 bearing number 10. He holds several assets in this adventure: he has a very good co-driver, Yan Spano, he knows the roads in the hinterland of Nice and Monaco very well, and he knows exactly how to hit the gas pedal!

BYD, a Chinese giant in the race…

BYD, the Chinese battery giant, has chosen the 7th E-Rallye Monte-Carlo to promote its cars, in collaboration with Forvia (Faurecia Group), the French company that manufactures and supplies the seats for its electric cars. In the BYD number 25, Piotr Moson and Etienne Sorlet bring their Monegasque adventure to life for millions of Chinese followers of the ‘Build Your Dreams’ brand.

Campana and Milanesio, two sailors on the road!

They know all about sailing! Olivier Campana and Nicolas Milanesio are real ‘sailors’, so for them the new concept of a secret route is almost an advantage. They are the 100% Monegasque crew of the BMW iX1, number 6, entered by the Daghe Munegu team for Monaco City Hall. A team that will probably make waves!

Pastor-Gazzola, not exactly fans of the secret routes…

One year follows another, but all things change! For the Italian-Monegasque crew of Jacques Pastor and Fulvio Gazzola, in the number 5 Kia E-Niro, the start of this 7th E-Rallye Monte-Carlo is not living up to their status of last year’s winners! Why? The secret routes… which are kept secret up to an hour before the start, each day. This is a big change compared to previous years! “The ACM doesn’t like it when it’s too easy,” says Jacques Pastor with a smile. Not one to hold a grudge, Pastor is determined to reverse the trend between now and Saturday…
