A legendary race in the heart of Monaco

The Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco is an unmissable event on the FIA Formula 1 World Championship calendar, and one of the sport’s most iconic races. First held in 1929, it is regarded as one of the most prestigious motorsport competitions in the world, alongside the Indianapolis 500, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the Rallye Monte-Carlo WRC. Its unique circuit stands out for its spectacular urban layout, winding through the very heart of the Principality of Monaco. Both impressive and unforgiving, the Monaco circuit leaves no room for error, demanding millimetre-perfect precision, unwavering focus, and absolute technical mastery from the drivers. As such, the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco is widely recognized as one of the most challenging and rewarding tests in the championship. The next edition will take place from 3 to 6 June 2027 (dates subject to approval by the FIA World Motor Sport Council), marking the opening round of the European leg of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The official ticket office will open in the coming weeks. Stay tuned! More than just a race, the Monaco Grand Prix embodies a certain vision of Formula 1: one of historical heritage, outstanding organization, and a unique setting between sea and mountains — making it a truly one-of-a-kind event.    " ["post_title"]=> string(30) "Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco" ["post_excerpt"]=> string(0) "" ["post_status"]=> string(7) "publish" ["comment_status"]=> string(6) "closed" ["ping_status"]=> string(6) "closed" ["post_password"]=> string(0) "" ["post_name"]=> string(30) "formula-1-grand-prix-de-monaco" ["to_ping"]=> string(0) "" ["pinged"]=> string(0) "" ["post_modified"]=> string(19) "2026-09-16 11:14:15" ["post_modified_gmt"]=> string(19) "2026-09-16 09:14:15" ["post_content_filtered"]=> string(0) "" ["post_parent"]=> int(0) ["guid"]=> string(65) "https://acm.mc/epreuves/formula-1-tag-heuer-grand-prix-de-monaco/" ["menu_order"]=> int(0) ["post_type"]=> string(8) "epreuves" ["post_mime_type"]=> string(0) "" ["comment_count"]=> string(1) "0" ["filter"]=> string(3) "raw" } }

Kimi Antonelli: a historic 2026 season!

The youngest-ever Monaco Grand Prix winner, Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) became the youngest world champion in Formula 1 history this Sunday in Mexico. At just 20 years of age, the Italian prodigy has crowned an exceptional 2026 season, marked in particular by his triumph on the streets of the Principality.

20 years, 2 months and 7 days. That was the age at which Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) became, on Sunday 1 November, the youngest world champion in Formula 1 history, following his third-place finish in Mexico City. The Italian driver made his mark on the 2026 season with a number of prestigious victories, including a magnificent win in Monaco. On 7 June, he also became the youngest winner in the history of the Monaco Grand Prix at the age of 19 years, 9 months and 13 days.

By winning the world title in the same year as his victory in the Principality, Kimi Antonelli joins a prestigious group of 18 drivers who have achieved the Monaco–World Championship double. This feat was first achieved by Juan Manuel Fangio in 1957. Michael Schumacher remains the only driver to have achieved it three times (1994, 1995 and 2001), ahead of Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost and Jackie Stewart, who have each achieved it twice.

A brilliant 2026 season

At the wheel of an impressive Mercedes W17 this season, the Bologna-born driver has impressed with his composure and maturity. Finishing second in the season-opening Grand Prix in Australia, he went on to win the next five races with a combination of luck, at times, but above all with great skill. The highlight of this run of five victories was his magnificent win in the Principality following a perfect weekend capped by a Grand Slam (pole position, victory, fastest lap in the race, leading every lap).

“It’s one of those laps you’d call magical,” he had said in the wake of his remarkable pole position at the Monaco Circuit. The following day, despite a chaotic race behind him, the young Italian remained focused: “It was an incredible weekend and race! It was one of those days when we had incredible pace and everything just fell into place. The car was in top form and really gave me confidence, so it was a very enjoyable day,” he said at the finish of the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Grand Prix de Monaco 2026.

After retiring due to mechanical problems in Barcelona, finishing third in Austria and twelfth at Silverstone, he returned to winning ways in Belgium, Italy and Madrid. With his third-place finish in Mexico, he now has 9 wins, 7 pole positions and 16 podium finishes this season.
