In 1975 and 1976, the Rallye Monte-Carlo borrowed part of the RS8 from l’Historique. At the time, Jean-Pierre Nicolas (Alpine A110 1800) and Sandro Munari (Lancia Stratos HF) had respectively won the Burzet – Freyssinet stage in 1975 and 1976.
