“Incredible weekend and race. The car was incredible and gave me confidence to push. To be fair I wasn’t super keen on restarting, but I gathered my emotions, my thoughts and just tried to refocus on restarting. And once I got away and made it to P1 in the first corner, from that moment on I just enjoyed the last few laps.”
Cadillac will have to wait a little longer for its first F1 point! Sergio Pérez, who finished 10th, was penalised for an incorrect position on the starting grid for the second start. Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), who finished 11th, therefore inherits the point for 10th place! 📈
“Within the first 10-15 laps I started having massive driveability issues, if there is one track you don’t want that it is here. At the restart I lost two places, but I never had to send it like I did to stay with Pierre [Gasly]”.
