MONACO (30 November 2018)– In only two weeks, on December 15, the first race of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship will be held in Saudi Arabia, in the streets of Ad Diriyah. Before discovering this season full of new features, Formula E fans have a great reason to be happy: the Monaco E-Prix, one the masterpiece of the season, is back in the calendar like each odd-numbered years. The tickets are already available. Grab your tickets before December 31 and get a price of only 20€ for the presale of an adult grandstand ticket.
For the third edition of the Monaco E-Prix, the Allianz E-Village will be located on the Quai Antoine 1er. In addition of the number of stands dedicated to food and entertainment, the Allianz E-Village gives the opportunity to get up close with the latest features and innovations of the car manufacturers. Test your skill in the Gaming Zone on one of our simulators. The place where you can meet your heroes during the traditional autograph session.
But the major innovation is on track. The Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY, whose first race will be held next month, is the world’s first all-electric production based international race series. On stage, the first battery all electric car of the Jaguar range, the I-Pace SV. Modified for racing, they will for victory during meetings made up of free practice, qualifying and 30 minutes’ race before the start of the E-Prix.
While the championship might be only five years old, the technology racing around the circuit is ever-changing. Season 5 will see 22 Gen2 cars racing around the track in anger for the very first time. The Batmobile-esque all-electric racer has double the energy storage capacity of the Gen1 car, meaning it can complete a whole race, so no more mid-race car swaps. With 250kW of power, the Gen2 will accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.8-seconds and go on to a top speed of 280km/h. Greater speeds, more action on track and with just one car per driver – there’s everything to lose.
No more lap limits – we’re moving to timed races. With each round running to a strict limit of 45-minutes plus one lap to reach the chequered flag.
The new season begins in two weeks in Middle-East before moving to Marrakesh, Santiago, Mexico, Hong Kong, and China in Sanya. The European tour will be back in the streets of Rome, Paris, and Berlin.
Then Formula E will come back in Switzerland, but in Bern, and the season will finish up with a double-header in New York City, on July 13 and 14, where a new champion will be crowned.
In a world first for motorsport, drivers will be able to access a higher power mode in addition to FANBOOST, by passing through an activation zone marked out and visible on the circuit for fans at the track and those watching on TV. When a driver passes through the activation zone, they will be able to access 225kW of power – as opposed to the standard 200kW available during the race. Signalling the power hike is the job of the new illuminated FIA halo head protection device, which will show different colours for each of the two power modes.
After the announcement that HWA will be 11th team to join the grid, there will be a total of 22 cars on the start line of the first race of Season 5. With BMW becoming a full manufacturer team, the German marque will join the likes of Audi, DS, Jaguar, NIO, Penske, Nissan (which takes the place of sister marque Renault) and Venturi as manufacturers in the series. With a new season and new teams out there, we say hello to Felipe Massa (Venturi Formula E Team), Stoffel Vandoorne (HWA RACELAB), Pascal Wehrlein (Mahindra Racing), Alex Sims (BMW i Andretti Motorsport) and Garry Paffett (HWA RACELAB) as they make their debut in the series. Join us, it’s going to be big!

For this 3rd eRallye Monte-Carlo, the Organizing Committee of the Automobile Club de Monaco has once again demonstrated originality by proposing a route composed of mythical events that made the heyday of its elders (Rallyes Monte-Carlo WRC and History). Introduction of this unpublished 2018 edition, which attracted 40 competitors (33 electric vehicles / 7 Hydrogen cars), and whose departure will be given this year from Nevers, Nièvre, Wednesday, October 24 at 2:30 pm.
Since its new designation in 2016, succeeding the Rallye Monte-Carlo des Véhicules Electriques (1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999), the Rallye Monte-Carlo Fuel Cell & Hybrids (2005, 2006), the Rallye Monte-Carlo des Véhicules à Energie Alternative (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011) and the Rallye Monte-Carlo des Energies Nouvelles / Rallye Monte-Carlo ZENN (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), this third chapter of the eRallye Monte-Carlo counts this year for the 9th and penultimate round of the eRally Regularity Cup of the Electric and New Energy Championship of the Federation Internationale Automobile (FIA).
By definition, eRallys aim to promote new car technologies designed to save energy and emit the lowest possible quantities of pollutants and CO2. They also aim to encourage drivers to change their driving habits, with priority being given to environmental protection and the sustainability of the transport sector through the use of electricity as a source of vehicle propulsion energy. And that is exactly what the Automobile Club de Monaco has been striving to demonstrate for more than 20 years, pursuing with insistence and conviction its role as precursor and commitment in the new energy and development sustainable sector. “The Automobile Club de Monaco is a strong proponent in this area. This test dedicated to new generation vehicles has evolved constantly over the years, to always correspond a little more modernism inspired by the car manufacturers.” said Christian Tornatore, General Commissioner of the ACM and Director of the Event.
Real competition, reserved for vehicles 100% Electric, without use of extender, and 100% Hydrogen cars, this regularity event is very appreciated by the car manufacturers and automotive preparers, come to demonstrate for the occasion and in real conditions, the technological and avant-garde potential of their vehicles. “For this third edition of the eRallye Monte-Carlo, wished even cleaner and without any emission of CO2, we are satisfied to have attracted a number of competitors including the main protagonists of the eRallye Regularity Cup of the Electric Championship and New Energy of the FIA 2018 “, continues Christian Tornatore. “The 2018 list of entries brings up new generation cars, representing a dozen of manufacturers. There are electric models, mostly represented by market leaders such as Renault ZOE, Nissan Leaf, BMW I3, Jaguar I-Pace, Kia Soul, Tesla S, VW e-Golf, Tesla X or the Opel Ampera- e. We also have two types of fuel cell cars: six Toyota Mirai and one Hyundai IX35…”

Marked by a record attendance (Approximately 40000 spectators in 3 days) by an extraordinary line-up of racing cars, but also thanks to the successful new Parade « F1 Heritage » of which the Champions John Watson, Jacky Ickx and Thierry Boutsen welcomed the initiative, it can be said that the 11th edition of the “Grand Prix de Monaco Historique” was a success.
To conclude it, nearly 1000 people met them on Sunday evening in the gorgeous « Salle des Etoiles » of the Sporting Monte-Carlo to enjoy the Gala Dinner and the Awards Ceremony.
The evening’s schedule: a dinner, a menu worthy of the best restaurants, followed by the screening of official the film and the Awards Ceremony, presented by Grégory Galiffi.
Finally, a show with Jugglers, Acrobats, and an amazing performance of trampoline dazzled the guests, not forgetting the apotheosis with the traditional fireworks!
The gala ended up with a dancing party and continued into the night…

Finally, the Italians Aghem / Cumino win this XXI° edition of Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique, it’s the second victory for the Aghem’s family, as Marco his son already win in 2005. Behin them, the Greek crew, extremly reliable, Delaportas / Moustakas with their Golf GTI (n°126) then the cute Zastava 1100 of the Pole Postawka / Postawka (n°249).
Tuesday night, as usual, The 2 last ZR of Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique shaked up the rankings.
In Sospel-Lantosque, as in 1977, it’s a Lancia Stratos (Perfetti/Kessel) which winned and the unluckiest are Durand/Chol and even more the former leader Bruns/Westenburger, forced to retire due to engine failure in the ZR. In back, in the back the battle rages between Aghem/ Cumino, Delaportas/Moustakas and Hansen/Brodersen. It’s St Sauveur-Beuil, the last ZR, which decided of the podium. A struggle between Lancia Fulvia and Golf GTI, as thes two model car have trusted the 5 first ranks of the ZR, as a matter of fact the Opel Kadett GTE of Durand/Chol loose it 5th rank !

A special nod to the finishers : Fréquelin/Perquin, first crew of the R5 Alpine of Renault Classic, Eléna/Campana , stronger than the pain and of course to the Sabys, father and son who managed to bring their tiny and so slow Vespa back in Monaco .
«Bravo» for All and rendez-vous for the XXII° edition of Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique.
Sunday was the first day of ranking : «Valence-Valence» (roughly 364 km ) with 4 regularity zones, the first one ended with the well known stop in front of «la Remise», property of Yves Jouanny, in the city of Antraigues ( and his famous apple pie ) !
This mythical inn was a compulsory passage for pilots and crews for more than 46 years, and now a great opportunity, due to the passage of Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique, to perpetuate a half century tradition.
For the greatest happiness of all.
La Remise ? «the place to be !» for any real pilot…
The first screws leaved yesterday from Glasgow, Scotland, ( 12 cars) and Oslo, Norway, ( 18 cars ). Today the 4 others Starting Cities ( Reims, Bad Hombourg, Barcelone and Monaco ) welcome the crews for admistrative checks and scrutineering.
