This stage has already been run about fifteen times and was much appreciated between 1980 and 1999, in the opposite direction. At that time, it was nicknamed « Les Tourniquets » (the turnstiles). Reintroduced in 2020, it has often given rise, at night and day, to severe explanations. The start is very quick, going uphill – except for some spectacular hairpins in the Tourniquets area – until Col des Sagnes (1184 m) is reached. The downhill portion, heading to Turriers and Bellaffaire, provides a lot of pace on a progressively widening road. The final loop, all around Bréziers, goes through both Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Hautes-Alpes departments. It is a lot narrower, more technical and complicated, especially in winter…

This stage takes up the "Saint-Clément / Freissinières" route, introduced in the 2020 edition. A special stage at an average altitude of 1,000 metres, which now starts in Champcella on this idyllic road, for both the quality of its winding road and landscapes, down to the Saint-Crépin airfield. The middle section is made up of much quicker and rather technical sections, notably the jump in the "Cros" district of Réotier, where Ott Tänak went off the road in 2020. The final section ends in Saint-Clément-sur-Durance, after running a series of hamlets with very narrow portions…

This fast stage, run at night or by day (2021), is back to its daily version… with a change since 2021. The uphill portion, from the start in La Bréole through the Col de Charamel (1,242m) and Col des Fillys (1,322m), followed by a quick downhill portion to Selonnet, remain the same, but the second part is modified, from the junction between D7/D900C where drivers now need to turn right and follow the Blanche valley during 2 kilometers. The stage then uses the final portion, but in reverse mode, of the original version of « La Bréole / Selonnet »…

Run once and only one time in 1997, this stage is similar to a wide and fast hill-climb in its very well exposed first part. Like a hyphen between the Diois and Vercors massifs, it's once you've crossed the Col de Menée (1402m) that things can literally get tough! The long, narrow descent is often icy in winter. A beautiful final section, with a breathtaking view of Mont Aiguille at the finish...

It's a repeat for the most part, but in the opposite direction, of the special stage "Agnières-en-Dévoluy / Corps" from the 2018 edition. This stage, set in the heart of the Dévoluy massif, straddling the Isère and Hautes-Alpes departments, is very fast-paced throughout, on portions of road alternating wide and narrow, mostly uphill, where here again the risk of ice/snow is very likely at this period of year...

Only contested 3 times in this direction (1977/78/89), the legendary Col de Corobin (1230 m) special stage should once again hold many surprises for competitors at this time of the year. From the start at the Etablissement Thermal de Digne-les-Bains to the finish at Chaudon-Norante, on a bumpy road with a succession of fast and slow sections including hairpins, both uphill and downhill, there's never any time for improvisation on this stage!

A new version since 2023, with a start from Camp de Millo for this monument of the Monte-Carlo Rally. The climb, with a high percentage to the village of La Bollène-Vésubie is very narrow, with two spectacular hairpins to negotiate. Competitors then take the main road to Col de Turini (1607 m), a 12-km climb without any major difficulty due to its southward looking geographical orientation. The finish is now judged just before the col...to be able to host the Power Stage podium for the very first time in its history!
