Super Special Stage Recce Complete!

This Sunday, January 18, the crews entered in the 94th Rallye Monte-Carlo completed the recce of the brand-new Super Special Stage. The event, promising to be spectacular on part of the Circuit de Monaco, will be broadcast live on several TV arounds the World (DAZN, Canal+, Rally.TV) with images produced directly by the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM) teams.

As the first step of the 2026 edition of the Rallye Monte-Carlo, the recce for the Super Special Stage (SSS13) took place this Sunday, January 18, between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm. For the occasion, the circuit layout was exceptionally closed to traffic to allow the crews to work in complete serenity.

In this setting, the 66 crews completed several laps of the 2.69km route designed on a section of the Circuit de Monaco. Inside the recce cars, drivers and co-drivers, equipped with helmets and pacenote books, analyzed and scouted the peculiarities of a layout that is more technical than it appears.

Thierry Neuville, winner of the Rallye Monte-Carlo in 2020 and 2024, highlighted these difficulties: « There are small changes in grip levels, a slightly dirty hairpin, several paving stones… You think you know the road, but actually, not at all! » Inside most cockpits, the crews enjoyed these few laps, such as Adrien Fourmaux, who tells fans he will « see them there on Saturday night » at the Port of Monaco.

A beautiful event at a legendary location that will attract a huge crowd

Clerk of the Course for the 94th Rallye Monte-Carlo, Romain Pugliese, went into detail about this Super Special Stage, eagerly awaited by both drivers and fans. « It’s something we’ve had in mind for several years », explains the Rally Director, who took office last year. « It’s a difficult event to organize because it mobilizes a lot of resources within the city to find the right slots, as well as within the Club to ensure everything is perfect. We managed to pull it off, but we also got a bit lucky: I can’t guarantee we’ll be able to do it every year », smiles Romain Pugliese.

With this format, the Super Special Stage also aims to attract a broader audience to Monaco. « We organized the Service Park in 2022 and 2023 on Port Hercule, and that had already brought the Rallye Monte-Carlo back to the Principality a bit. But it is far more interesting to have a dynamic live spectacle like a city stage », admits the Clerk of the Course.

« It will be a beautiful event at a legendary location, free of charge, and it will attract a huge crowd. We have areas available to welcome the public in excellent conditions », concludes Romain Pugliese.

A show and entertainment all day long

As with all Monte-Carlo stages, public access will be free and open to everyone, with designated public zones provided to follow SSS13 in the best conditions.

Before the start of the Super Special Stage, scheduled for Saturday, January 24 at 6:35 PM for the first car, head to the Fan Zone set up on Port Hercule in Monaco. Activities and entertainment are planned all afternoon. You can try your hand at driving simulators, discover a WRC car exhibition, or follow the entire Rally on the giant screen. And that’s not all, other surprises await you throughout the day!

Spectacular production ensured by the ACM

If you cannot make it on-site this Saturday, January 24, 2026, the Super Special Stage will be broadcast live on DAZN and Rally.TV. To elevate the show, the ACM has pulled out all the stops! The Club will handle image production internally with a setup of 14 cameras installed along the track, accompanied by two drones flying over the cars in the Principality. Everything is in place to make this intense Super Special Stage even more immersive!
